Dogs On Call (DOC) was founded by Frances McGowin in 2008. She has since founded Service Dogs Alabama where she serves as Executive Director. DOC is now operated by an advisory board and made up solely of volunteers. We have over 50 certified Pet Therapy teams that visit many venues in the Tri-County area and beyond. DOC offers 2 training classes per year and requires teams be evaluated annually to maintain their certification.
Our mission is to share our pets and our love for them with others. In doing so, we also aspire to offer compassion, comfort, encouragement, and kindness to all we visit.
