A Volunteer-Driven Community Service Organization
DOGS ON CALL trains and certifies Therapy Dog teams to provide comfort to those living with disabilities, suffering trauma or stress, at-risk, or living in nursing and assisted living communities, hospitals, rehabilitation, and youth detention centers.
We are a program of Easter Seals Alabama.
Founded in 2008, DOGS ON CALL is an Easter Seals Alabama non-profit organization that supports, trains, organizes, and certifies dogs and their handlers to perform multiple services.
Therapy Dogs are trained and certified to provide comfort and/or assistance in a variety of activities. Therapy Dogs are handled by their owners, who are typically volunteers.
DOGS ON CALL is a volunteer-driven organization. In addition to becoming a volunteer handler as part of a certified Therapy Dog team, there are several volunteer opportunities available with DOGS ON CALL.
Your charitable donation allows the DOC to provide training for Therapy Dog teams and will impact many lives, including residents of nursing and assisted living facilities, people living with disabilities, at-risk, and those who are coping with severe stress and trauma.
